Pics of the week

Les sept petites choses qui m'ont rendue heureuse cette semaine.
Those seven small hapinesses:
1. Bubble was in a cuddly mood
2. It was an in laws week between birthdays and others: I love seeing the in laws.
3. I got over my depressed mood
4. It was warmer coming back home, how comfy.
5. I skied and you know I love that don't you? (Thank you Guillaume!)
6. The weather was amazing in the Vosges.
7. I had news from Eva and she's fine in Vienna :)
(On the dark side I've spent hours on a short this week-end and it just turned out wrong; too small and so on, on the bright side if it doesn't suit me it might suit my mom)

I have nothing to wear in February!

Still the same blouse from the same book.

A little thought to Eva who just left for Vienna. I needed a name for this blouse and while staying in the dance theme it really suits the piece of clothing shown here and fits to the situation. I like that.
The blouse was sewn for the Challenge J'ai Rien à Me Mettre and inspired by its theme: Like a Queen. What could I wear in the noble fabrics? I just happened to feel like wearing lace. Isn't it perfect?

The blouse was made out of this bright luminous beige cotton popeline I bought in New York and form lace I received from my mother directly from Sicily. This blouse is my mum and dad in one.
Add a cute doted blue bias for the sleeves and the piping and a plain one for the bottom.
It is my first piping, reader, my first ever, made with love and improvisation thanks to, on the first hand, the great tutorials from Thread and Needles and, on the other, my imagination, I didn't have special strings for that and I just used plain usual cooking string (so original, I know)

I'm quite happy with the result, the polka dot blue breaks the too formal side of the lace.

Don't hesitate to visit the other challenger on J'ai Rien à Me Mettre!

Pics of the week nearly a week late!

My 7 little happinesses of the week:

2. I ate cupcakes and chocolates (my cholesterol!)
3. I've sewn a new blouse and I'm proud of it.
4. I had my dad on the phone for his birthday, reminding me how much I love him.
5. I knitted a hat on a way to the mountains and it was useful!
6. I find our Crocodile! It's gone to the Cinquantenaire.
7. We visited the exhibition on the Sabena Company at the museum of the Cinquantenaire with Kevin and it was great (inspiration!).

Picture of the week

This week I open a new tradition. Each week I'll put in the seven things that made me happy this week.
So... this week my little happinesses are:
  1. I could draw myself a wonderful semester diary/program/agenda for the blog, my courses etc. I love to reorganize myself!
  2. I posted loads of stuff in here and I even created a Facebook page for this blog.
  3. I loved the classes I had even if they'll be pretty hard.
  4. We are playing Rhapsody in Blue and Pirates of the Caribbean with the university orchestra!
  5. It snowed this Sunday and it was so soft and nice.
  6. We had a long walk my mister and I and it just made me feel like having many more of those.
  7. I had a great night at the restaurant with three wonderful young men.

Camera for this series: Ipod.
Usually I take my pictures with my Powershot D10 Canon, well reader, I like the Ipod camera (the same as the Iphone's) and more I love Instagram. As you can see on the fourth picture, reader, I also bought a lomo camera, the Diane mini, so one of these days, when my film is done you'll see "old school" pics. Keep you posted!

2012's Top #2

My February top is already enjoying Spring, Samba is a fast dance you know?

The Pattern comes from this book, it's the C.

It was sewn in Broderie Anglaise and Popelin bought in New York City. I made some fabric discoveries over there you know reader? Loads of discoveries.

It's all soft and cosy. I love the shape of it, much more that I had hoped.
Ok, it is a bit flashy but a sweater makes it wearable isn't it?

And the details, you'll see reader that my headphones are just matching the thing, I'm proud, I have to admit it, I'm really proud of myself and I'll create loads of other ones.

This is still for the same challenge and the other challengers are still findable on Karen's site.

Magic Square

I was surfing on Lirbis's blog when I saw her non-knitting version of the Magic Square from La Droguerie (Carré Magique). Cool! An express Sweater and I needed one anyway! 5 minutes later, Mirabelle my serger on full power and I had a new sweater/shrug/scarf!
